During the procedure, the dentist removes the infected or necrotic pulp, cleans and disinfects the root canals, and then fills and seals the space to prevent further infection. This treatment alleviates pain and preserves the natural tooth in your mouth.
Treatment is usually done within 2 visits and then the tooth needs to be restored. It is recommended to have an onlay or crown to restore the back teeth to prevent them from breaking due to chewing.
